SPOKANE, Wash. – Although the West Coast Conference tournament begins March 7th, our local college teams earned good enough seeds for a couple byes.
Saint Mary’s men’s basketball and Gonzaga women’s basketball took the WCC regular season title and the one seed in the conference tournament.
Gonzaga men’s basketball beat San Francisco, Saturday, and locked in the two seed. Under 26 seasons of the Mark Few era, Gonzaga has either finished first or second in the conference; that streak continues. The final score against the Dons was 95-75. They improve to a 4-6 Quad 1 record.
Gonzaga women’s basketball took the regular season title with a win on the road against Santa Clara, 68-61.
Washington State men’s basketball beat Pepperdine in California to take the six seed in Vegas.
