The Washington Attorney General’s Office is helping Washingtonians protect themselves and raising awareness about fraud during Consumer Protection Week.
Starting March 3, Attorney General Nick Brown’s office will host a series of in-person and virtual events, supported by different state agencies, to help consumers learn how to stay safe from fraud, identity theft and scams.
“There are sophisticated ways companies and individuals try to deceive and steal from Washingtonians,” Attorney General Brown said. “Our consumer protection events will give people the tools and knowledge to empower and protect themselves.”
In-person events will take place at libraries in Puyallup, Edmonds and Des Moines.
Virtual events will be held in both English and Spanish. The virtual events will cover a range of topics from how to spot scams to shopping for a used car and keeping your family safe online.
