OKANOGAN COUNTY, Wash. — One snowmobiler died and another was injured after triggering an avalanche near Harts Pass northwest of Mazama on Friday.
According to the Northwest Avalanche Center, three snowmobilers were riding in the area when the avalanche happened.
One rider was fully buried and killed while another was partially buried and injured. The third snowmobile rider was not reported to be injured.
NWAC says it is working with avalanche professionals to conduct an investigation.
Information about the two deceased has not been released.
