SEATTLE, Wash. — King County Public Health announced an infant has the first reported case of measles in Washington state in 2025.
The department was notified Wednesday the child had become exposed during international travel.
King County did not say if the child was vaccinated. King County said, in 2024, three cases of measles were reported.
The department tracked the child’s movements and notes advises people to be aware of possible exposure.
King County wants to remind folks the MMR vaccine (measles, mumps, rubella) remains the best way to protect yourself and your family against measles with 97% protection.
