COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — A small group of about 20 people gathered outside the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office Friday afternoon, demanding the resignation of Sheriff Robert “Bob” Norris.
The organizer said, “We believe the people of Kootenai County deserve leadership that upholds integrity, transparency, and the constitution. It’s time to take a stand and make our voices heard!”
Some of the signs on display included messaging like “Fire Norris,” “Norris Resign,” “Enough is Enough,” “Sheriff Norris: Read the First Amendment,” “Keep Your Theocracy of my Democracy,” and “Recall Norris.”
It’s unclear whether this protest was organized specifically in reaction to the incident at a political town hall event last weekend, where Norris was present as a woman was dragged from the event for heckling the presenters.
KXLY contacted the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office Friday afternoon for comment on the protest.
