WASHINGTON, D.C. — In the aftermath of a chaotic Oval Office meeting between President Trump and Ukraine President Zelensky, an Eastern Washington representative is calling for Zelensky’s resignation.
Zelensky was in Washington D.C. to negotiate a minerals deal that Trump said could have moved Ukraine closer to end of its war with Russia.
In a post on X, Congressman Michael Baumgartner (WA-5), who is a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, says while Russian President Vladamir Putin is a “thug,” Zelensky has gone back on a deal and should resign.
Zelensky left the White House after the meeting devolved into Trump and Vice-President Vance shouting at Zelensky and pulling the deal.
