STOCKTON, Calif. – Head coach Lisa Fortier said this series is often a difficult and close one, but tonight proved this instance wrong in all the right ways for Gonzaga.
The Bulldogs clobbered the Pacific Tigers, 72-56, to stay alive in the WCC regular-season title race.
Yvonne Ejim led in points with 21, the only Zag scoring over 12. Tayla Dalton set her season high in rebounds with nine.
San Francisco beat the Zags last weekend and fell apart in the final moments against Portland tonight; if either result went the other way, Gonzaga would have the WCC title wrapped up.
Gonzaga next plays at Santa Clara this Saturday at 2:00 p.m., a win or Portland loss at Pacific will give the Zags the WCC chip.
