POST FALLS, Idaho — A Post Falls murder suspect is still on the run.
47-year-old Jason Rook is accused of shooting and killing his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend on Sunday.
Rook currently has a warrant out for his arrest for first-degree murder and burglary. Despite having no criminal history, he is believed to be armed and dangerous.
Police were called to a home on Sunday afternoon after receiving a call from a woman who believed her boyfriend had been shot.
The woman said she saw Rook leaving the house through a Ring doorbell camera near the front door.
When police arrived to the home, they found a 46-year-old man dead with multiple gunshot wounds, but did not find a murder weapon.
PFPD said the department is working full-force on this case.
“Pretty much every single one of our detectives has some sort of task associated with this case, and we’re utilizing all available resources, including those from our partner agencies to locate and apprehend the suspect,” said Post Fall Police Department Lieutenant, Brian Harrison.
Police hope to release the name of the victim Wednesday morning once family has been notified.
One woman who knew both Rook and the victim said this kind of situation is unusual for Post Falls.
Police believe Rook is driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee with license plate KJI7U.
If you see Rook or the vehicle, call 911.
