STEVENS PASS, Wash. — Highway 2 near the summit of Steven’s Pass will be closed Thursday morning for avalanche control.
According to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), the avalanche control team will carry out a mission on Highway 2 at Stevens Pass early Thursday, Feb. 20, starting at 4 a.m.
During the operation, traffic will be stopped near the summit, with delays lasting anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours.
WSDOT said the mission is crucial for maintaining safe travel and keeping the pass open.
