WHITMAN COUNTY, Wash. — A head-on crash on Highway 195 sent two people to the hospital early Monday morning.
According to Washington State Patrol, a car driven by a 23-year-old Spokane woman was driving north on Highway 195 four miles north of Rosalia around 7:30 a.m.
WSP says the woman was driving too fast for road conditions when she went to pass another northbound vehicle, lost control, and hit a southbound vehicle head on.
Both she and the driver of the southbound vehicle were taken to an area hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown.
Two additional vehicles were hit by the debris from the crash, but their drivers were uninjured.
Spokane Fire District 3 says one of the drivers had to be extricated from their vehicle.
The road was blocked for several hours and reopened around 10 a.m.
