With Gonzaga (20-7) and Washington State (16-11) playing in the same conference for the foreseeable future – their rivalry has officially resumed play.
Wednesday will be the first time these two teams will face each other in the same season since the 1995-96 campaign. Another milestone will be reached in Beasley Coliseum with an expected sellout crowd. If the student section is filled by the 6:05 P.M. tipoff, it’ll be the first full basketball crowd in Pullman since December 3, 2010 when Klay Thompson and the Cougs took on No. 5 Kansas State.
The last time the Cougars beat the Bulldogs was in that same season… just five days later on December 8, 2010. That game was also played in Beasley.
It’s been , it might be a foreign feeling for a Cougar win over the Zags, but we know with rivalry games: anything goes. And with the display of Gonzaga and WSU fans we expect to pile into the coliseum, the energy and environment is bound to be electric.
