SPOKANE, Wash. — One of Spokane’s oldest landmarks has a new owner that plans to preserve its history.
The 137-year-old Glover Mansion was originally built in 1888 for Spokane’s founder, James N. Glover, by renowned Spokane architect, Kirtland Cutter.
Over the years, it has house a church, a restaurant, and most recently, an event space.
Next, it will be an office for Tacoma-based law group, Connelly Law Offices.
“We like historic buildings. We like to preserve the historical aspects of those buildings,” said Jack Connelly, Principal at Connelly Law Offices.
The group said it has looked at a number of locations across Spokane and was excited when they learned the Glover Mansion would be on the market.
Now that they are moving in, many are wondering if they public will still be able to enjoy the historic space.
“The weddings and events that are currently scheduled through October, we have an arrangement with the former owner, Bob Adolfson, that those will continue,” Connelly said.
The Gonzaga Law School Advisory Board plans to have an event there in the Spring and Connelly said they spoke with Representative Michael Baumgartner about a potential event.
Connelly said they don’t plan to make any major changes to the first floor and is even considering turning the back bar into an Irish pub and hosting a St. Patrick’s Day event for the public.
