SPOKANE, Wash. — Three dogs and a cat died in a Spokane house fire on Monday, according to Spokane Fire Department (SFD).
Fire crews responded to house fire near North Belt Street and York Avenue at approximately 3:30 p.m.
According to SFD, a woman and two children were outside the home when fire crews arrived.
Crews quickly brought the fire under control, but the home suffered extensive fire and smoke damage. Total losses from the fire are estimated to be over $250,000.
The woman was injured during the evacuation and taken to the hospital. She was released later that evening.
According to SFD, three dogs and a cat were found dead after the fire. The cause is under investigation.
