SPOKANE, Wash. — Gonzaga students will soon have a new living option next to campus!
The ‘803 Apartments’ near Sharp Avenue and Cincinnati Street have been under construction since September 2024.
The developer behind the complex, Farr Group Northwest, said the completed building will offer 17 fully-furnished apartments, suitable for up to 45 tenants.
“One of our goals is just to have modern, clean living that’s directly across from campus so they don’t have to walk through neighborhoods or walk very far to get on campus,” said Farr Group developer, Aaron Farr.
The apartments are not affiliated with university housing, but they do carry a legacy at Gonzaga.
Last year, Aaron Farr bought a 120-year-old house that had been rented to Gonzaga students for years.
“It just became known amongst students as ‘The 803’, so we decided to keep that name and that is what we’re calling the apartments,” Farr said. “Our intention and our target audience is student housing since we are directly across the street from Gonzaga University.”
Farr said the developers are also prioritizing safety for the building.
“We plan to put on some sort of gate with a key fob entrance so that way, when they’re in the property, it’s fully secure and safe for them,” he said.
Exact rent rates are still being discussed, but some students said the cost will make or break the complex’s location.
“The biggest thing will be price, of course. How much more expensive will it be compared to living somewhere a little further away with some people in a house,” said Gonzaga senior, Louis Nipp.
The apartments will be available for pre-leasing in spring 2025.
