NEWPORT, Wash. — For decades, people in this area have been dealing with unusually high rates of serious health problems, such as multiple sclerosis, ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, and various types of cancer.
The situation grew even more alarming when these health issues started affecting some of their children.
We’ll explain the EPA’s primary goal in adding the Upper Columbia to its Superfund National Priorities List and what residents of Northport and the Colville Tribes hope will result from this decision.
