SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Spokane Valley council members unanimously approved a $11.75 million settlement with Meridian Construction for its role in the defective construction of the City Hall building.
This was the final of four settlements related to that city hall construction project.

The Spokane Valley City Hall building was originally contracted to be built in 2017 on Sprague and Dartmouth.
Less than a year after staff moved into the new building, however, it became clear there were structural problems with the new construction. The most severe was a wall that was sinking into the ground.
In April 2020, the city filed a lawsuit against four companies involved in the construction and building process.
The City previously received settlements totaling $2.185 million with Architects West and Allwest Testing & Engineering in May 2023 and Eight 31 in November 2024.
In January 2023, the City Council awarded a $4 million contract to Garco Construction to fix the building’s problems. Those repairs were finished in August of last year.
The city said it is currently evaluating any further necessary work on the building.
