PORTLAND, Ore. – A 43-point win is a good way to bounce back from two-consecutive WCC losses.
After dropping games to Oregon State and Santa Clara and falling out of the AP top 25 poll this week, head coach Mark Few knew he had to shake things up – even if that meant a new starting lineup.
Graham Ike and Khalif Battle weren’t a part of the starting five against Portland, Saturday. Emmanuel Innocenti got his first start wearing the Zags’ logo in place of Ike.
Several guys stepped up to the plate including Ben Gregg, who played a perfect game with 24 points and went 10-10 in field goals including four triples. Michael Ajayi scored 20 with eight rebounds. Ryan Nembhard had 13 assists to add to the team’s total of 31.
Next up, Gonzaga hosts Oregon State in the Kennel this Tuesday at 8 p.m.
