SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane Chiefs threw as many punches as they could at the Everett Silvertips, and it turned out to be enough for a 3-2 win.
No, this does not only reference the slugfest between Spokane’s Kaden Allen and Everett’s Clarke Schaeffer, but the twin Rasmus Ekstrom goals to help the Chiefs to a major win over the best team in the WHL Western Conference standings.
Spokane was outshot 32-20, specifically 13-4 in the first period, but 1-1 on the scoresheet.
Dawon Cowan also earned a star of the game in net, as he finished with 30 saves on 32 shots.
Spokane stays at home for a Friday night game against the Medicine Hat Tigers at 7:05 p.m.
