MOSES LAKE, Wash. — A 20-year-old woman was arrested for endangering her 9-month-old and assaulting her parents with a knife.
According to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, the parents of Kelsey Galvan were babysitting her son as she spent a night partying.
Deputies say when Galvan returned to pick up her child around 3 a.m. Sunday, her parents suspected she was under the influence and refused to hand over the baby.
GCSO says Galvan kicked and bit her mother, armed herself with a knife, and threatened to kill both her parents.
According to deputies, Galvan left the home with her son in a car seat and did not properly secure the seat before speeding away. Deputies say she hit a neighbor’s mailbox as well.
Due to potential danger to the baby, deputies did not pursue Galvan but followed at a safe distance.
Deputies followed Galvan to Hansen Road and Westshore Drive where she was arrested. The baby was unharmed.
Galvan was booked in jail for first-degree assault, felony harassment, threats to kill, reckless endangerment, and hit and run.
Child Protective Services is also investigating.
