SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane has been selected as an official fan zone for the 2026 FIFA World Cup!
The Seattle FIFA World Cup 26 Local Organizations Committee made the announcement Tuesday. Spokane is one of nine designated fan zones across the state.
Spokane Mayor Lisa Brown said the city is excited to be a fan zone and this will be tremendous for kids and families in the area.
“Spokane is thrilled to be a designated SeattleFWC26 fan zone! This global soccer celebration will unite our local and regional community and showcase our city’s passion for this game,” said Mayor Brown. “We cannot wait to welcome fans to experience the spirit of Spokane.”
Programming for fan zones during the World Cup matches could include live entertainment, interactive fan activities and delicious food and drinks.
The City of Spokane said it plans to stream games at places like the Pavilion to create a communal event and encourage kids to get out and play.
Specific fan zone locations within each city will be announced at a later date.
