SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — A man was stabbed and arrested for violating a protection order in Spokane Valley Saturday.
According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, 58-year-old Darrell L. Miller went to the Spokane Valley police station around 3 a.m. Saturday morning and told a deputy he had been stabbed and wanted to press charges.
Deputies received another call around that time that a man had been assaulted at an apartment complex, and they determined the incidents were related.
Through the investigation, detectives say Miller had been at the complex on 4th Avenue near Pines Road which was the home of a woman who had a protection order against him. The 70-year-old man assaulted was also at the apartment.
SCSO says Miller followed the man from the apartment and began assaulting him.
Deputies say during the fight, the victim pulled a pocketknife and defended himself which led to Miller being cut.
Miller then left and drove to the precinct to report the incident.
SCSO says the 70-year-old man suffered head injuries and hand injuries from the knife. He was not charged with a crime.
Miller was booked into the Spokane County Jail for felony violation of a protection order and 4th-degree assault.
Deputies say Miller also had multiple outstanding misdemeanor warrants.
