COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — Visitors to three recreational sites in North Idaho could soon pay more fees on their trips, the Bureau of Land Management announced Wednesday.
BLM says this will affect the Mica Bay Boater Park, Windy Bay Boater Park and Killarney Lake Campground and Access, and Huckleberry Campground.
The fee changes will include doubling the overnight camping fee to $20 and establishing day-use fees at the three locations.
The day-use fee will start at $5 this year and potentially be raised to $7 in 2027 and $10 in 2029.
The Mica Bay Pavilion reservation fee will also increase to $80 with a plan to eventually increase up to $100 over time.
BLM said these new and increased fees are needed to cover higher operational, maintenance and emergency response costs.
The new fees will go into effect this summer.
