The United States Postal Service will close mail delivery and retail services on Thursday, January 9 because of the national day of mourning for former President Jimmy Carter.
USPS said limited package delivery services will be available on that day. Normal operations will pick back up Friday.
Former President Carter died at his Georgia home on Dec. 29 at the age of 100. He served as the 39th president of the United States from 1977 to 1981 and was the oldest living former president.
