OLYMPIA, Wash – Thousands of Washington workers will get a raise in the new year, as the state’s minimum wage rises again.
Workers will now make $16.66 an hour, which is a 38-cent-per-hour increase.
This makes Washington the state with the highest minimum wage in the country. Workers in California and New York will make $16.50 per hour.
Minimum wage in Washington, DC is $17.50 per hour.
Cities in Washington can set a higher minimum wage. Workers in Tukwila, for example, will earn a minimum wage of $21.10 per hour. That’s higher than Seattle, which set minimum wage for 2025 at $20.76 an hour.
21 states will raise the minimum wage in 2025.
Idaho’s minimum wage remains flat at $7.25 an hour, which is equal to the federal minimum wage.
