PULLMAN, Wash – Multiple reports say Washington State is closing in on a deal to hire South Dakota State coach Jimmy Rogers to lead the football program.
Bruce Feldman from The Athletic says Rogers is expected to become the next head coach.
Ross Dellenger from Yahoo Sports said on Twitter/X “Deal not done but is expected to get there soon.”
ESPN is also reporting that the deal should be finalized soon.
Rogers has led the Jackrabbits for two seasons and won an FCS national title in 2023.
He’s an Arizona native who also played football at South Dakota State.
Rogers would replace Jake Dickert who recently left to take the head coaching job at Wake Forest.
