SNOQUALMIE, Wash. — Forecasted heavy snow is prompting the Northwest Avalanche Center to issue an avalanche warning for the Cascades.
According to NWAC, the snow, winds, and snow transitioning to rain at lower elevations is creating a risk of avalanches along Stevens and Snoqualmie passes, Mt. Hood, and the west slopes of the Cascades in Washington.
Travel along the passes is not recommended as there is high risk of avalanches.
The warning is in place until 6 p.m. Thursday.
