LEAVENWORTH, Wash. — A popular park in Leavenworth has been partially closed while crews repair vandalism damage.
The City of Leavenworth has closed the lawn area of Gazebo Park on Front Street temporarily.
Video circulating on social media shows the damage was caused by vehicles doing donuts in the park tearing up the lawn.
Leavenworth Police said it is currently searching for the truck believed to be responsible for the damage. The vehicle is described as a 2024 silver Toyota Tundra with the Texas license plate number TTR1528. The driver is believed to be a white male in his 20s to 30s but has not yet been identified.
The city says its Christmastown programming at the gazebo is still scheduled to go on.
Police said once the driver is identified, there is probable cause to arrest them for reckless driving and malicious mischief.
