SPOKANE, Wash. – For the third time in the last four years, the Lewis and Clark Tigers have won the Rubber Chicken.
The largest Washington high school basketball event outside of the state tournament showed out again tonight at Spokane Arena, with a packed house rocking the bleachers with an LC western theme and Ferris Saxons Christmas theme.
The Tigers won both basketball games; the girls won 52-47 behind a stellar performance from Sadie Pierce, who tallied 21 points overall, 12 in the fourth quarter.
The Tiger boys won as well, 58-49, to win just their second game in eight tries.
This was the 42nd all-time Rubber Chicken game, with the first edition played back in 1983, making this the longest-running spirit game in the city.
