The University of New Mexico announced Idaho Head Coach Jason Eck as the new head coach of the school’s football team.
Eck has led Idaho to the FCS playoffs in all three years he’s coached the Vandals. Most recently, Idaho lost to Montana State in the 2024 FCS Quarterfinals, Friday night.
The Lobos went 5-7 this season including a big win over a ranked Washington State team. New Mexico lost their star quarterback Devon Dampier to the transfer portal along with their former head coach Bronco Mendenhall to Utah State as their next head coach.
