GRANT COUNTY, Wash. — A 58-year-old Quincy man died, and one person was injured in a three-vehicle crash near Quincy on Monday evening.
According to Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Eric Keyes was driving a 2001 Ford Escort east on Road 5-Northwest when, around 6 p.m., a 2002 Toyota Camry crossed the center line and collided head-on with Keyes’ vehicle.
GCSO said both cars came to rest in the middle of Road 5-Northwest near Road T-Northwest. Moments later, a 2020 Mitsubishi struck both vehicles.
According to GCSO Keyes and the driver of the Camry were transported by ambulance to Quincy Valley Medical Center, where Keyes died shortly after. The Camry’s driver was airlifted to another hospital with serious injuries.
GCSO said the driver of the Mitsubishi declined medical treatment.
Keyes’ body was transferred to the care of Coroner Craig Morrison, who will conduct an autopsy.
All involved were wearing seat belts.
The Grant County Sheriff’s Motor Traffic Unit is investigating.
