STATELINE, Idaho — Law enforcement arrested an Idaho man for shooting at vehicles Monday night near the Idaho/Washington border.
According to Idaho State Police, people reported a person possibly armed with a rifle was shooting vehicles as they drove by on I-90 around 8 p.m.
The freeway was shut down as ISP, the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office, and Post Falls Police investigated.
The 23-year-old man was located and taken into custody. ISP says the man fired 41 rounds.
He was booked into the Kootenai County Jail for felony unlawful discharge of a firearm. Idaho State Police also says the man was cited and released for DUI, using a deadly weapon, and disturbing the peace.
According to the Kootenai County Jail roster, a man named Wyatt Armstrong was booked into the jail around midnight for discharging a firearm. Armstrong was arrested by Idaho State Police on westbound I-90 at Milepost 0 and is currently in custody.
ISP says no injuries were reported.
