SPOKANE, Wash – Businesses in one of Spokane’s oldest buildings were back up and running Friday, two days after a fire sent thousands of gallons of water into their stores.
Boo Radley’s and Petunia and Loomis suffered water damage when a fire broke out upstairs in the Coeur d’Alene Plaza apartments.
Despite thinking it might take longer to clear the water damage, both stores opened mid-day Friday.
“We all greatly appreciate the support and offers of help during this whole incident,” Boo Radley’s posted on Instagram Friday. “Please excuse our mess while we still weather thru the situation!”
Around the corner O’Doherty’s suffered water damage as well, specifically when a water pipe burst during the firefight. As of Friday afternoon, they were waiting for water to be restored and hoped to open this weekend.
“We want to express our heartfelt thanks for the outpouring of love and support we have received after the recent flooding at the pub,” O’Doherty’s posted to Instagram. “We’re doing everything we can to get back up and running.”
Meantime, more than 60 people displaced by the fire are waiting for word on when they can return home.
