SPOKANE, Wash – In the eighth year of what has become a beloved Spokane tradition, 4 News Now weather anchor Mark Peterson is bringing Extreme Team volunteers together to light up a local park for the holidays.
Once again, the Extreme Team is stringing holiday lights and other decorations in Cowley Park, located just north of Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital.
The idea was born eight years ago as a way to brighten the spirits of kids and their families who have to be in the hospital over the holidays.
It has turned into a spot where families come to enjoy the lights of the season.
Mark and the Extreme Team will be hard at work all week, setting up the lights and other surprises. They’ll flip the switch Thursday evening for the lights that will stay on into the new year.
You can watch the progress all week on 4 News Now and kxly.com and streaming coverage on kxly+.
