SPOKANE, Wash. — Downtown Spokane’s Christmas tree is now sparkling with lights for the holiday season!
The Numerica tree lighting celebration gathered families and community groups in Riverfront Park Saturday to kick off the festivities.
Kids smiled for photos with Santa and people got to watch figure skating performances on the Numerica Skate Ribbon.
“Very exhilarating and exciting,” said figure skater Lily Joubert. “I love performing in front of people. I love seeing their energy and my energy and just kind of feeding off of that.”
The tree lighting happened at 6 p.m. emceed by 4 News Now’s Kris Crocker.
Throughout the evening, members of the community enjoyed kettle corn, hot chocolate and holiday spirit. This tradition even drew some locals back home.
“It’s pretty cool because I’m home from college just for the week and this is the last night here,” Will Heyden-Seaton said. “It’s kind of cool to be involved in community and just see all the spirit work.”
The decorated tree will be up throughout the season, so be sure to check it out if you find yourself in downtown Spokane!
