SPOKANE, Wash. — A burn ban will be in effect starting at 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 29, across several counties in Washington State
According to the Washington State Department of Ecology (WSDOE), Douglas, Kittitas, Klickitat, Okanogan, Ferry, Pend Oreille, Stevens, Asotin, Columbia, and Garfield counties will be under burn restrictions.
WSDOE said, the ban will remain in place until further notice, with conditions being reassessed daily.
Under Stage 1 of the burn ban, the following restrictions apply:
No outdoor burning.
No agricultural burning.
No use of uncertified wood stoves, except when the wood stove is the only source of heat.
According to WSDOE, the burn ban is due to stagnant air conditions, which are expected to trap particulate pollution near the surface, potentially affecting air quality.
