SPOKANE, Wash. — Volunteers are needed to collect important data to help Spokane better understand and respond to its homeless crisis.
Each January, Spokane participates in the Point-in-Time Count and Survey (PIT). The nationwide event counts and surveys people experiencing homelessness in hopes of better serving unhoused individuals and families.
The information collected in Spokane is sent to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Washington State Department of Commerce and helps inform policy from the local to the national level.
The 2025 data will be used to make funding and advocacy decisions for issues like affordable housing and drug treatment services.
Volunteers are needed to count and survey people experiencing homelessness throughout the City of Spokane, City of Spokane Valley and Spokane County.
The 2025 PIT will take place January 21-29.
All volunteers will be required to attend a virtual training session.
