SPOKANE, Wash. — A man was arrested for assault, hit-and-run, DUI, and resisting arrest, according to Spokane County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO).
On November 13, 2024, at around 3:35 pm, deputies responded to a car-motorcycle collision at E. Sprague Avenue and N. McDonald Road.
According to SCSO, the motorcycle driver fled the scene after hitting a vehicle.
The suspect, later identified as 38-year-old Kevin C. Arkell, was described over the radio, and a deputy leaving the precinct spotted a man matching his description walking nearby.
According to SCSO, a deputy attempted to contact Arkell, who ignored commands and aggressively challenged the officer.
SCSO said, after an unsuccessful Taser deployment, Arkell ran from the scene, throwing his jacket at the deputy and physically resisting before tripping and falling.
According to SCSO, breath samples revealed a blood alcohol content of .301 and .300, well over the legal limit.
Arkell was arrested and booked into Spokane Jail on charges including assault, hit-and-run, DUI, and resisting arrest. His bond was set at $5,000, and he remains in custody.
