SPOKANE, Wash. — Winter snow response operations are starting this week in Spokane.
The City of Spokane Public Works office said these operations will begin on November 15 and run through March 15.
Residents are asked to move vehicles and basketball hoops off their streets, make sure they have snow shovels or a working snow blower, plan where to park and know what residential snow plow route they live in.
The city asks people to park on the odd-number side of the street during snow season to leave room for plows and first responders.
The city said weather conditions are monitored 24/7. Priority snow response areas include hills, hospitals, arterials and school routes. A full-city plow will happen during a larger snowfall of four inches or more and will take about three days.
The city said crews will work to keep snow away from sidewalks when possible.
“Maintenance during the winter months requires a partnership between City operations and the community,” says Clint Harris, the City’s Street Director. “We appreciate the work residents, businesses, and our partners do to be prepared and keep areas clear during the winter.”
