SPOKANE, Wash – Whether you’re treating yourself or buying early holiday gifts, you can shop Monday for makeup and beauty products and support local women and families in the Inland Northwest.
Project Beauty Share is holding a pop-up sale Monday at the organization’s warehouse on East Sprague.
The sales, held twice a year, bring in thousands of dollars for the organization that gives hygiene and beauty products to non-profits throughout the community.
People often line up down the street before doors open, hoping to get great deals on makeup, skin care, hair tools and other products.
Project Beauty Share is one of the only non-profit of its kind in the country that focuses on hygiene and beauty products.
“Many people don’t know this, but the federal food stamp program does not allow you to purchase those items,” said Project Beauty Share Founder and Executive Director Julie Farley. “You can’t get tampons, toothpaste, toilet paper, any of those items. So that’s where Project Beauty Share comes in.”
The organization works with 100 partner agencies across the region to provide products to those in need. Proceeds from the sale will help PBS feel a growing need.
“What we’ve seen is the need has increased by probably 30, 40%,” said Project Beaty Share Founder and Executive Director Julie Farley. “And our own donations that come in the door have gone down 40-50%. So, it’s really hard for us to keep up with the need. There isn’t a day that goes by where we don’t have somebody new that has reached out.”
Monday’s pop-up sale runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Project Beauty Share warehouse at 2718 East Sprague.
