SPOKANE, Wash. — Burn restrictions were issued across Spokane on Thursday afternoon.
Around 4 p.m. on November 7, Spokane Regional Clean Air Agency issued burn restrictions on wood heating and outdoor burning.
The restrictions are in place until further notice due to impaired air quality.
All outdoor burning including the burning of wood, charcoal, and other solid fuels is banned throughout both incorporated and unincorporated Spokane County.
Wood heating such as the use of fireplaces and non-EPA certified devices like wood stoves and inserts is banned in the Spokane County Smoke Control Zone.
The control zone covers the City of Spokane north to Owens Road, into Spokane Valley until the Idaho border, south to Gibbs Road and west to Hayford Road.
It includes the most concentrated residential and commercial areas in the county where air pollution is highest.
