COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho— With Election Day tomorrow, many Idaho voters have already cast their ballots, taking advantage of early voting or absentee ballot options.
The Kootenai County Elections Office reported seeing at least 1,000 voters each day during early voting.
Driven by a high-stakes presidential election, Proposition One, and key local races like Kootenai County Sheriff, Idahoans are eager to make their voices heard.
Voter turnout has been especially high in Kootenai County, where nearly 41,000 early and absentee ballots have been returned as of Monday morning, reflecting an 88.6% return rate.
“There’s so much at risk for our nation,” one local voter commented, underscoring the urgency felt by many in this election cycle.
For those voting in person on Election Day, polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Any voter in line when polls close will be allowed to vote. Absentee ballots can also be turned in by 8 p.m.
To accommodate voting, classes in the Coeur d’Alene and Lakeland School Districts will not be in session, as several schools will serve as polling places. For a list of polling sites, go HERE.
