SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — An 18-year-old woman was arrested for ramming a patrol vehicle and leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase while suspected of being under the influence Wednesday around midnight.
According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy was on patrol in Spokane Valley when he went to investigate a suspect wanted for eluding a patrol vehicle on Oct. 25 and known to be in the area of 2nd Avenue and Coleman Road.
The deputy said they saw the suspect, 18-year-old Ella Villarreal, in the same suspect vehicle with the car running around 11 p.m. Tuesday. Villarreal also had outstanding warrants from Spokane and Idaho.
According to court documents, the deputy tried to contact Villarreal but said she intentionally rammed his patrol vehicle multiple times. The deputy took cover behind his vehicle but says Villarreal rammed it again which caused his vehicle to hit him.
Court documents say Villarreal then took off driving through a yard damaging a fence, a parked car, and a shed.
Deputies say Villarreal led multiple deputies on a high-speed pursuit running red lights and stop signs and driving into oncoming traffic.
Villarreal eventually crashed near N. Argonne Road and E. Euclid Avenue. Deputies suspected her of being under the influence, and she was taken to the hospital before being booked into the Spokane County Jail.
Villarreal faces charges of eluding, DUI, driving with a suspended license, and assaulting a deputy with a deadly weapon.
She made her first court appearance Wednesday. Her bail was set at $50,000. Her arraignment is scheduled for Nov. 13 at 8:30 p.m.
