MEAD, Washington — A Department of Transportation worker is seriously hurt after being hit by another vehicle Monday morning.
According to the Washington State Patrol, a DOT crew was loading a deer on the side of East Mt. Spokane Park Drive when a vehicle hit a worker and crashed into the DOT vehicle.
DOT worker 53-year-old Paul Weber was taken by helicopter to Sacred Heart Hospital, and the driver 75-year-old Kenneth Massender was taken by ambulance.
Washington State Patrol describes both their injuries as “serious.”
All lanes of East Mt. Spokane Park Drive near North Peone Road are open.
There is no word on when they will be back open.
