AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. — The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office arrested a woman suspected of falsely accusing a man of domestic violence in Airway Heights.
SCSO says deputies and Airway Heights officers responded to a reported domestic violence assault at a home near S. Holly Road and W. Silver Street on September 30.
The woman, 34-year-old Shawna Langdon, told law enforcement a man she knew assaulted her. She was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. That man was not at the scene when officers arrived.
Through the investigation, SCSO says detectives obtained evidence indicating Langdon had not been truthful with investigators.
Detectives suspected Langdon of implicating a man she knows for the assault possibly leading to felony or misdemeanor charges against him.
Langdon was arrested for malicious prosecution, false reporting, and making false statements.
SCSO says Langdon has reported being a victim of other assaults which are still under investigation.
Spokane Regional Emergency Communications sent a release out Monday saying probationary employee, Shawna Langdon, has been terminated by SREC.
4 News Now previously reported the assault was under investigation based on information provided at the time by the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.
