SPOKANE, Wash. — A local non-profit’s therapy horse needs the community’s help after suffering a life-threatening shoulder injury.
Westside Clyde is a therapy horse that specializes in helping kids and veterans with mental health struggles. Now, he’s at an equine hospital after running into a steel latch last month.
The latch pierced through his shoulder all the way down to the joint and the vet bills have put a financial strain on his home, Second Chance Ranch.
The non-profit, however, is determined to help Clyde heal.
“How do you put a value on a horse that has literally saved dozens of lives?” asked Second Chance Ranch executive director Katie Merwick. “How do you put value on a horse that has impacted hundreds of lives, and he still has a lot more work to do.”
Second Chance Ranch has set up donations to help save Clyde. You can find out more, including the link to donate, here.
