Spokane City Council to host 3rd roundtable on homelessness. Here’s how you can weigh in

SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane City Council Members are hosting a third homelessness roundtable on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on the first floor at the Central Library at 906 W. Main Ave.

The roundtables will be held in Events Rooms A & B. No registration is required.

Local business owners and community organizations are encouraged to join the conversation in solving Spokane’s homelessness challenges with new ideas.

This will be the third roundtable to be held this year on the topic.

Topics will include shelter siting and emergency sheltering activation criteria, ahead of the upcoming winter weather.

“I am looking forward to the next roundtable because this is exactly how government should operate: gathering around the table with community stakeholders, identifying ways to enhance our city together, and effecting change,” said Council President Betsy Wilkerson. “So far, the roundtables have generated insightful feedback and passionate conversation, and we all share the goal of being solution-oriented in countering the homeless and opioid crisis in Spokane.”

Previous roundtables included topics like employment protection, good neighbor agreements and shelter siting principles.
