WASHINGTON — Minimum wage workers in the state of Washington will see an increase on their checks next year to $16.66 an hour.
This increase will take effect on January 1.
This minimum wage applies to workers 16 and older. The Department of Labor and Industries said under state law, employers can pay 85% of the minimum wage to workers ages 14 and 15. That would mean the minimum wage for those workers would be $14.16 per hour.
The Department of Labor said Washington has the highest state-level minimum wage in the nation in 2024.
