Severe thunderstorm warning issued for Inland Northwest

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the Inland Northwest.

The warning applies to Latah, Garfield, Whitman, Nez Perce, Kootenai, Benewah, Bonner, Spokane, Lewis, Asotin and Pend Oreille Counties.

The National Weather Service said a severe thunderstorm was located over the area moving at 20 to 30 miles an hour. Wind gusts are around 60 miles per hour and penny-sized hail has been spotted.

You can expect to see damage to roofs, siding and trees from the storm.

This warning includes parts of Highway 95, Highway 2, Highway 195 and Highway 395.

NWS said for your protection, move inside to a room on the lowest floor of a building.
