SPOKANE, Wash – A dust storm moving through the Inland Northwest Wednesday afternoon knocked out power to thousands of people.
Avista reported more than 1,700 customers without power in the Fairwood area of North Spokane around 4:30 Wednesday. Other major outages are popping up, mostly north of Spokane in Chattaroy, Loon Lake and other areas.
There are smaller outages throughout the area as the powerful winds move through.
