KOOTENAI COUNTY, Idaho — A 73-year-old Hayden man has been sentenced to 10 years prison with parole eligibility after three years for lewd acts against a child under 16.
According to the Kootenai County Prosecutor’s Office, David Allen Ihle engaged in “manual genital contact” with a nine-year-old child between May of 2013 and August of 2014.
The state prosecutor said Ihle groomed the child and claimed he accidentally found himself touching the child’s bare genitals.
Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Molly Nivison recommended a 20-year prison sentence, but Senior District Judge Barbara Buchanan said the recommendation was too long.
